Reporting Requirements

Depending upon award type (such as grant, cooperative agreement or contract), reports are due on a recurring basis, with final reports generally due within 60-120 days of the end date. Kuali Coeus displays the frequency for various report types in View Award Report Tracking. 

Report Preparation Responsibilities

Some types of reports are prepared with or submitted by central Institute administrative offices. However, the PI ultimately has responsibility for timely submission.

Penalties for Late Reports

Pay attention to sponsor due dates and formatting requirements (such as RPPR) for final reports. Failure to adhere to the reporting requirements may result in:

  • Continuation awards to PI being delayed or canceled
  • Continuation awards for other MIT faculty being delayed or canceled
  • MIT not being paid
  • Early termination of award
  • MIT being debarred from receiving federal awards
